Armed forces watches, as their name implies, were created for the armed forces. The 1st military watches were naval pieces, chronometers that worked okay for their purposes, but as other branches of the army – aviation especially – made major technical advances round the time of the second World War, accurate measurement of the seconds became urgent.

As the old chestnut goes, ‘necessity is the mother of invention,’ and Navigator ( occasionally called ‘Pilot’ ) watches were born. In the Navigator watch design, the seconds bezel permitted the pilot to synchronize the second hand with a correct reference time before takeoff, and to make manual corrections to radio time signals while in flight, therefore getting rid of any ‘chronometer error’ and the navigational gaffes that would result.

In World War I seconds continued to be important in both military technology and army watches. The feature that authorized for synchronization between two watchs – continued to improve and advance. These watches were worn on the exterior of a flight jacket or on the navigator’s thigh.

The Germans also added antimagnetic protection to their chronometers. Inside another major Axis power, Seiko produced a fantastic number of armed forces watches for the Japanese Imperial armed forces and Navy. These watches averaged around 49mm in diameter.

As the times of WWII faded into memory and the strained peace of the ‘Cold War’ became fact, army budgets and military technology boomed. Watchmakers rose to the call by planning an instrument deserving of going into battle with humankind’s strongest weapon. Those were the excellent times of the army watch, though no definite design house can claim full credit for the steps made in that time.

Cold War-era army watches were much larger than the characteristic US consumer navigators before them. Averaging 36mm in diameter, the development of these watches was moved to Switzerland and the Swiss armed forces watch corporations who came to the task with centuries’ old reputations for precision.

Like those before them, these Navigators also featured a matte black dial marked with white Arabic numbers 1-12, and with white indices. The new designs didn’t have white numbers at cardinal three, six, nine, and twelve. Another new addition was a shatterproof Perspex acrylic crystal, which protected its large twelve ligne movement from magnetic fields.

These hand-wound watches were envisioned to be water-resistant to twenty feet, including water-resistance under low pressure at operational altitudes, and added a naval dimension to the regular military watch.

Are you curious about redeveloping your wardrobe? If you are looking to update the clothing or clothing accessories that you own, you could be inquisitive about incorporating some of the newest fashion trends into your wardrobe. If you’re, you’ll need to find a fashion store to shop at.

When it comes to finding a fashion store to shop at, you have got a selection of different options. Before inspecting those options, you need to remember that fashion stores are operated in both storefront locations and on the internet. If you’re attempting to find an online fashion store, you may want to think about performing the standard net search. If you’re searching for a storefront store to shop at, you may wish to think about visiting your local mall, using your local yellow pages, or using internet business directories.

One of the many factors that you may want to take into account is the stores in question. Fashion stores come in a variety of different sizes, shapes, and styles. As an example, there are clothing stores that are designed for plus sized women, youths, athletic women and men, and so forth . In addition to inspecting your gender and your size, you may also want to take the kind of clothing fashions that you would like to buy under consideration. Are you usually just hunting for work garments or do you want a mixture of work clothes and causal clothes? Knowing what kind of clothing and fashion accessories you would like to buy is very helpful when it comes to finding the ideal fashion store for you and your wishes.

Cost is another factor that should be taken into account when choosing a fashion store to shop at. A sizeable number of the fashion stores that carry the newest and greatest fashion trends are likely to be fairly pricey. If you have an unlimited amount of cash to spend on a new wardrobe, this may not always be an issue for you. However , if you’re on a budget, you may need to inspect the fashion stores that you are interested in shopping at and their average sale costs. If you are able to do a little bit of analysis online, even for storefront store, you may be able to save yourself a considerable period of time.

The already mentioned factors are only a few of the many ways you can go about finding the perfect fashion store. If you’re not pressed for time or if you want to make a fun journey out of buying a new wardrobe for yourself, you may wish to start hitting up as many fashion stores as you’ll find. Somewhere along the way, you are bound to find the ideal one, if not more.

In the 21st century the hippy Halloween costumes. is a favorite choice of outfits for those who like to dress up. For Halloween the retro look is cool; no wonder the hippy look for Halloween continues to be a popular option. When you think about big hairdo’s and go-go boots it is easy to see why 70’s Halloween costumes are a preferred style for those who like to dress up on this Holiday. Even though the 70s have long past, when Halloween comes around, you can still go retro and bring this decade back to life.

Hippies were a big, if not controversial, part of the’70s. Bell-bottom pants and tie-dyed shirts were all the rage. Release your inner flower child with a totally groovy, hippy look. It can be fun to be one with nature, even if it is for only one night out of the year. Do not get too caught up in the lifestyle, though. If you plan to party with friends, I highly recommend you still bathe!

Music created in Britain was also big in the 70s. Songs that were popular among the British crowd became a hit in the states as well. So the 70s retro look for Halloween can also include clothing with a certain British flair. One could try and purchase (or reproduce) the style of jacket worn by Sergeant Peppers. You could also grab a guitar, a cool Beatles shirt, and take your 70’s Halloween costumes to a whole new level.

If the hippy scene is not appealing, and you are not a fan of British tunes, consider going retro chic. Short dresses, bright colors, go-go boots, and a neckerchief will complete the look perfectly. Think of 70s Halloween costumes that resemble Daphne from Scooby Doo!

Keep in mind when choosing your particular 70s styled costume there are many places to look for inspiration. From “Foxy Brown” to “Superfly” there are all sorts of title characters that one could use to model their 70’s Halloween costume after. Depending on your creativity level, you can draw ideas from, or totally mimic, the style of your favorite celebrity from the seventies.

The other thing to keep in mind is that you don’t have to use those obvious references, like the hippy, when coming up with your 70s Halloween costumes idea. Retro doesn’t mean that you can’t use a more obscure aspect of the decade when designing your costume. You could be a character from “Star Wars” for example. Watching popular old movies can help give you some idea of which direction to take.

Remember that if you really want to go all the way with your 70s Halloween costumes you shouldn’t just dress the part, you have to act it out as well. Do a search of the common words and phrases associated with the decade if you want to add another dimension to your costume; this way you can go retro in your words as well as your dress. If you’d decided to go with a British themed outfit – why not try out your version of the British accent.

70s Halloween costumes can be fun and entertaining. Personalities were strong during this time in history, which makes for a variety of styles to choose from or create. Go even further and master the language of the times to add depth to your look. Consider recreating the style of a 70s celebrity. Whether you favor go-go boots, bell-bottoms, or Brit rock, you can have a good time reliving the’70s through retro 70s Halloween costumes! Edited by Hetsil Protage

Buy your totally fantastic Halloween costume online for October 31st. Wear some bell bottoms and a vest and be the life of the party. Masquerade as as a hippy in your 70s Halloween costume.

Before even thinking about tattoo designs, it is important to ensure you wholeheartedly want one. They are, of course, pretty much permanent so not rushing into anything is key. Satisfied that you have made the right choice though, it is also important to have a motif that suits you, your personality and to a certain degree, your lifestyle.

The number of tattoo designs available is only limited by the number of thoughts that we humans have; quite a lot then. However, even this number is small, considering that even the same design will look different from one person to the next. One way to get something you really want is to design it yourself; a tattooist will help you if you aren’t confident in your design skills.

In any case, working closely with the artist that will be tattooing you is always a good idea. It helps build up a rapport of course, allows them to understand exactly what you are after and, they can be there to guide and advise you. However, don’t let them lead you; be your own person and make decision for yourself ultimately.

It can often be too easy to select a cliched design; a heart with a loved one’s name, a butterfly, fairy or flower of course. However, just because they are more common than others, does not mean they are not appropriate for you. Go with what you are comfortable with.

A good tip to help get the right design is to have a temporary tattoo. Henna tattoos come off after a few washes, so will not be permanent; using them as guides will allow you to really formulate what works and what doesn’t.

Finally, having made your long thought decision over tattoo designs; you will need to select exactly where on your body you want to have it placed. This also needs a considerable amount of thought of course; but that is for another time.

Have you ever wondered what it takes to design a comfortable mascot costume? Probably not. For most of us the word Mascot brings visions of football games and some big, weird looking animal walking around acting silly.

Mascots have fans just like the teams they represent do. When they come on to the stage or field, they receive cheers and support as well. Most teams can be identified by their mascot.

Most mascots are there for amusement. The amusement is provided before the game, during breaks or to liven things up a bit. It is possible that some individuals attend events just to see the mascot. These team representatives can bring fans out of their misery if the team isn’t doing to good. There are times when the antics are so hilarious that the mascot is talked about more than the game.

Mascots make their job look easy when in reality; the costumes are often hot and heavy. When choosing someone to be a mascot, they have to be thought of because of the construction of the costume.

Light weight and comfortable custom mascots costumes may be purchased by teams whose budget is quite large. These costumes, made of the lighter material, often allow the one wearing them to move and breathe easier. When selecting a construction, the length of time it can be worn and how well someone can move in it needs to be considered. Those chosen to be mascots must be agile and strong.

When developing the costume for a mascot, weather conditions need to be taken into consideration. The costume needs to have the ability to add or remove material when necessary to keep the mascot cool or warm.

The head can be made of fiberglass because it is a light weight material. Also take into account the persons need to be able to see.

Denim, polyester and cotton can be used to make the costume. The inclusion of battery operated fans may also be an option for the costume design.

Make sure to sign a contract that includes the cost for the material and construction. The contract to should also state that the rights to the costume are owned by the school or team and that it will be original. The mascot costume should be a one of a kind. The costume should also include the school colors to make it more identifiable as that particular school or team’s mascot.

The materials that you are going to need, if you are going to create and sew one on your own; are the same that you would need for any sewing project. Take into account that the suit needs to big enough to allow for air flow around the person wearing it; use polyester fill to make the costume appear bigger than life; Velcro allows for ease when putting the costume on or off; and fiberglass or cardboard for the head.

Most of these costumes can only be worn for forty minutes. Those wearing these costumes need to be well hydrated and have someone to assist them at all times. Depending on the crowd and the event, more than one person may be needed.

Fun and amusing mascots can liven up the atmosphere in almost any casual context. There are many resources available for choosing the ideal mascot that best matches your needs.

Most gyms aren’t worth it. Yeah, you might be a gym devotee, or you think you’re happy with your current setup, but let me tell you something – there are other ways of working out you should try.

And hey, if you’re in love with the gym as-is, then you’ve got nothing to worry about. But if you’re thinking of a change, peruse these 5 reasons and make a new choice.

#5: Prices are Sickeningly High.

Face it – the gym is expensive. If you are living in a big city, memberships can run upwards of $100/month, and there are no compensation if you don’t happen to go for a few weeks. Unless you’re lucky and have access to a student gym on the cheap, paying full membership price will seriously hurt your wallet. Gyms like making money.

#4: The Kind of People Who Seriously Frequent Gyms? Nuts.

You start to see the same people over and over at the gym, and they get into specific routines. These routines can become more and more absurd, because these people know they’re being watched in close quarters. That is why you have to deal with the spectacle of Mr. thickest-neck-ever coming in and grunting his way through 30 unnecessarily heavy repetitions in front of you. Nowhere else in the world do you have to put up with stuff like that.

#3: The Sweat of Others is Not Pleasant.

Yeah, the signs are all over the place and you want to hope that everyone in the gym is a nice, caring person who really will help you out by not leaving their sweat all over the machine, but the ugly truth is that most people simply don’t wipe down the machines if they can get away with it.

#2: Repetition Breeds Contempt.

You might claim that your magic iPod or your series of audio books or magazine subscriptions alleviate the crushing boredom of standing in a small room and working selective muscle groups over and over, but you’re only deceiving yourself. Own up to the sad and depressing fact – gyms are stunningly, shockingly boring places that breed contempt through bitter, grim repetition. Get out while you still can.

#1: Welcome to a World Without Limits.

If you work out at home or outdoors, you can literally go wherever you want. You can invent new running routes every single day, stop in a different park and do body weight exercises, take a resistance band out in public and work out there is no limit when it comes to opening and closing hours, no boring repetition, and no costs.

Looking for some entertainment? Celebrity gossip, supermodels, music videos on Ryoni.com – website dedicated to female beauty.

You know as well as i do that finding some of the best tattoo designs for your body can seem almost impossible. With all the designs out there it takes way too much time and energy searching for the perfect one.

There is nothing wrong with looking at free sites, but the problem is you will begin to notice all these sites show you the same exact tattoo’s. It gets to a point where nothing seems to be original anymore. One mistake many people make is settling for these designs because they feel like there is nothing better out there.

If you settle for a tattoo that you don’t think is incredible you will have so much regret. You will have the tattoo for a very long time and because of that you don’t want to ever wake up in the morning thinking “This tattoo is ok”.

One of the best ways to find a tattoo that is incredible is to use what is known as a “tattoo finder tool”. This unique tool is extremely cool and will help you find the perfect tattoo quicker than you ever thought possible.

This kind of tool shows the work of some of the most popular tattoo artists in the world. However, in order to get access to this, a small fee will be required. Don’t worry though, the cost is usually fairly cheap and you will get a tattoo that nobody has ever seen before.

Before you go out and join any site, I want to give you a warning. You will waste some money with some of the tattoo finder websites. If you find a Tattoo tool website that charges your for getting the stencil of the individual tattoo you need to stay away from it. Paying money to get the stencil of one tattoo is not worth it.

Getting a tattoo that is personal is really important. Getting something that everybody else has can be flat out boring. One thing I always tell people is if they have seen the tattoo on someone then they shouldn’t get it.

After you have found the tattoo you want, you don’t need to stress out about trying to make it personal. The tattoo artist should be good enough to personalize it for you.

Finding the Best Tattoo Designs is a tough thing if you do not know what to look for. If you are interested in learning how to find the best tattoo’s then just Click Here

They have been making the lenses that photo enthusiasts have been demanding over all that time. So if you have determined that your camera bag is lacking, Sigma can fill that void.

Thats just a drop in the ocean,These are just some of the technologies available in the Sigma lenses.

So you want to be an expert photographer ? With Sigma Camera Lenses, you get technology that will take your photography to the next level, no matter which type you chose.
Among the technology you will find on their models:
*	The aspherical “ASP” technology allows for compact size while at the same time maintains high quality opticals.
*	The APO lenses minimize light aberration so that the colors you see when you take the picture are the colors you see when you develop the picture.
*	The Optical Stabilizer (”OS”) technology will keep your photos from blurring. This also allows you to take pictures at slower speed than would be expected in the light.
*	Rear focusing (”RF”) technology. This allows the rear lenses to refocus independently when the camera is adjusted to maintain aberration. This is especially handy when taking close up photography.

With such a vast array of products available, With the Sigma Camera Lenses you can diversify your choices of lenses to fit your camera. Your choices are not limited to those that are manufactured by your camera body maker. If you normally take a lot of photos in one genre and have a lens for that purpose, you can purchase a Sigma lens for those other pictures you take. In that way you can diversify your repertoire. A telephoto lens can help take picture at a distance. Conversely, a macro lens will help get more detail for up close photography like in nature photography. Wide angle lens will help with photos of large groups, crowds, or buildings.

These are just some of the technologies available in the Sigma lenses.

Sigma Camera Lens have been made for almost five decades. They have been making the lenses that photo enthusiasts have been demanding over all that time. So if you have determined that your camera bag is lacking, Sigma can fill that void.

Roller Derby was never really a big deal in the US, but has been around forever and was a staple of the early days of television. It was similar in its promotional format to its better known “sports entertainment” cousin, professional wrestling. It was frequently seen in the same bad timeslots on the same low powered UHF TV stations, and it was run by the same loose confederation of promoters and businessmen that characterized the regional territory era of pro wrestling. That’s where the similarity to wrestling ends–it’s storylines made pro wrestling angles look like high drama. While there is a definite history to the sport–great teams like the LA T-Birds and Bay Bombers, and legendary skaters like Ann Calvello it never really stuck in the public consciousness like the pre-Hulk Hogan era of pro wrestling.

When the original purveyors of the sport quit promoting in the early 1980s most thought it was dead and gone until a ‘new school’ of roller derby surfaced on cable TV via the A&E reality series Roller Girls. It featured a local, all-girl roller derby league in Austin, Texas and followed the lives of the players on and off the track. While much of the show dwelled in Lifetime style drama about binge drinking and bad relationships, it was the first clue that many had that roller derby had risen from the dead. A sport that had faded into the lowest level of obscurity had been rediscovered and embraced by an eclectic group of young women. They had kept the same essential format, thrown in a healthy dose of burlesque camp and Varga pin-up inspired glamour and made it into their own vibrant subculture. They changed the competitive format and renamed the competitions “bouts” a la MMA or boxing. The result was a compelling mixture of glamour, toughness and athleticism driven by a healthy dose of punk rock “do it yourself” mentality.

Today, the same sort of league featured on “Rollergirls” had become a full blown cultural phenomenon. There are now literally hundreds of local “roller girl” leagues in the US, many under the auspices of a national organization called the Womens Flat Track Derby Association. Las Vegas has the ‘Sin City Roller Girls’, Portland, Oregon the ‘Rose City Rollers” and Seattle the ‘Rat City Rollers’. There are now groups in not only the larger and traditionally “hipper” cities but also smaller flyover country environs such as Birmingham, Alabama and Omaha, Nebraska and all over Canada, Europe and Australia. Most of the local groups similarly play up the campy retro pin-up/hot rod iconography and everyone involved sure looks like they’re having a good time. Between teams there’s a vibe of good natured competitiveness and camaraderie.

This organic rebirth and growth of roller derby is a result of young women taking what essentially was TV time filler and made it into their own distaff ‘action sport’. The community that has sprung up around it bears a striking resemblance to the skateboarding or snowboarding subculture. Granted, there are plenty of talented female skateboarders and snowboarders but they’re typically male dominated disciplines. The roller derby circa 2009 is just the opposite–a living, breathing matriarchal success story. No one is in it for the money, as these local groups are typically run as non-profit organization. The women involved have recreated this sport, and run it, promote it and compete in it on their own terms.

The new generation rollergirls also pay homage to their sports’ pioneers. Many of the individual group websites have sections devoted to the history of roller derby, and the late Ann Calvello–regarded as the Queen of the original Roller Derby–is revered as something of a patron saint. The Texas Rollergirl group featured in the A&E series has renamed their championship the Calvello Cup.

Drawing attention to your business, cause or group in today’s busy world is a challenge. Taking time to craft the perfect item to show off your brand or make a splash for your effort can pay off in a big way. Fortunately, there are a couple of lost-cost, effective ways to get your brand in front of the maximum number of eyes: customized wristbands and lanyards.

Acquiring your lanyards and wristbands, with your logo or product on them out to the public is actually one of the simplest marketing you will do. It is very easy to take your wristbands, lanyards and other products with your logo on them to trade shows, local events (street fairs, festivals), church bazaars, suppers and meetings. Job fairs often have an attending population that find these items interesting and often useful.

Wristbands can have any logo, name, phrase or cause printed on them and look very attractive. There are a number of ways to brand them, including printing, ink injection, embossing, debossing or molding. Add more pizazz with swirled colors. This is a perfect way to get your brand noticed. Offer a number of colors so you are sure to have something for everybody. An attractive wristband will draw the attention of others, making this a perfect way to get your brand maximum exposure.

Lanyards are a practical item for anyone who needs to carry an I.D., wear a name tag or keep track of a badge. Your design and text are imprinted on or sewn into the colored lanyard of your choice. These practical items are must-haves for employees everywhere. Customizing your order with attachments like name badge holders or ID reels increases the desirability of your lanyards and ensures long-term use by the wearer.

These are a great way to get major impact for your logo by using an inexpensive yet very effective marketing method. These are an investment in your future and that of your business, group, or charitable cause. They allow you to leave a great impression on people and are a lasting gift and useful item too.
